France’s broadcast authority has banned French channels from airing TV shows aimed at children under 3 years old, to shield them from developmental risks it says television viewing poses at that age.

it can generate a lot of debate...
i toatlly agree with not letting small children get exposed to TV at such a young age..
just the other day i was at a restaurant enjoying a family dinner where i came across a mother who had popped open the portable VCD player for her 2 yr old kid. the child fussed around till his dora the explorer cd did not begin
throughout the meal the child watched the movie blissfullunaware of his surroundings and deeply immersed in the TV.
it was a sad situation because the mother is so dependent on this medium to keep her child occupied...
is this our future generation...addicts from the word go?
